Individual psychotherapy is offered to adults, adolescents and children.  No matter the age and background, I strive to help clients to access strengths and existing skills. Clients then learn to supplement those skills with new information and support which enable them to find ways to overcome their present difficult circumstances.  Thus, these added skills, information, and strengths will be new tools to use when difficult situations arise in the future course of life.

Among the issues addressed are:

  • A wide range of mood disorders such as depression, grief and  self esteem issues
  • Anxiety disorders, including anxiety and worries stemming from everyday problems, OCD and generalized anxiety disorders
  • Relationship issues, loss, separation, divorce, marital conflicts
  • Career or job concerns and difficulties
  • Women’s and Men’s issues
  • Trauma

Children most often want their parents to be happy.  When they are making their loved ones angry and upset, there is usually something wrong.  However, children tend to show their unhappiness in ways that adults don't expect. For example, they may become clingy, irritable or oppositional, may get headaches or stomach aches, or regress to behaviors more appropriate for a younger child. Children can benefit from psychotherapy when they are unhappy, overwhelmed, distressed or confused.
